Alcântara sits under the north end of the 25 de Abril bridge, the suspension bridge that has crossed the Tagus since 1966. The district grew as Lisbon's industrial waterfront, and many of the places people eat in today were built for work.
LX Factory occupies the old works of the Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Lisbonense, a textile company that set up here in 1846. Since 2008 its warehouses have held studios, shops and kitchens, so a walk through it is mostly a walk past menus.
Down at the river, the Doca de Santo Amaro marina is lined with converted dock warehouses that serve dinner with the bridge overhead. Nearby, the Museu do Oriente fills a 1940s port building designed to store salt cod.
Seafood and Portuguese kitchens hold the docks. LX Factory leans modern and international. Two very different evenings, a short walk apart, which is exactly the argument 531 settles.
One player chooses five cuisines from what is actually mapped near Alcântara. The other keeps three. The first player picks one. 531 then commits you to a single restaurant, drawn live from open map data and Google at the moment you play. No lists to scroll, no reviews to argue over.
